Why did Google acquire sound login startup SlickLogin? Because security needs to be simple

Why did Google acquire sound login startup SlickLogin? Because security needs to be simple
Security breaches are on the rise, and we humans still have trouble creating and remembering secure passwords, so it’s clear we need another solution for our ongoing security.
SlickLogin, a startup that uses sound to authenticate website logins, is one such solution. And, not surprisingly, Google confirmed yesterday that it has acquired the startup, FreeMindTrickz reports.
SlickLogin’s technology produces a nearly silent sound when you visit a website, which is then picked up by a mobile app, verified, and sent back to the company to confirm your identity. It’s a much simpler version of standard two-step authentication methods, which typically involve a code being sent to your phone or other device when you try to access a website.
Since it relies on multiple devices and uses randomly generated codes, not a password that can be forgotten or stolen, two-step authentication is vastly safer than mere password logins. The problem? It’s significantly slower than just logging into a website with your password. SlickLogin’s technology could quash that delay — and even better, it could be simpler than typing in a password for many users.
Announcing the acquisition on its website, SlickLogin described Google as “a company that shares our core beliefs that logging in should be easy instead of frustrating, and authentication should be effective without getting in the way.” The company also pointed out that Google was the first company to offer two-step verification to a vast majority of users.
Expect to see an increased focus on simplified security over the next few years. Apple’s TouchID fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 5S, for example, makes it easier to unlock your iPhone securely, compared to just swiping it. When security becomes more convenient, consumers won’t think twice about adopting it.

S4 The Most Serached Phone Online

Every once in a lifetime, comes a phone that alters the world of technology with permanence and panache. This time this super gadget is the Samsung S4 unveiled on 13th March, 2013. It has created quite a frenzy in the international market of technology. The device is a successor to the Galaxy S III which maintains a similar design, but with upgraded hardware and an increased focus on software features that take advantage of its hardware capabilities—such as the ability to detect when a finger is hovered over the screen, and expanded eye tracking functionality (which includes scrolling). Upon its release, it became the fastest selling smart phone in Samsung's history; the company sold 20 million  S4 units worldwide in the two months following the device's launch. Obviously it has also become the most searched mobile phone on the internet.
Check out here some of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Features Back-illuminated sensor (BSI), CMOS image sensor, auto focus, touch to focus, digital image stabilization, face detection, smile detection, exposure compensation, white balance presets, digital zoom, geo tagging, high dynamic range mode (HDR), panorama, scenes, effects, self-timer, voice activation are some of the key features that make this phone a coveted gadget. It is a traveller, student and a business man’s dream come true, for it has a plethora of features in it. With so much packed in, it challenges and beats all smart phones in the market today. The Galaxy S3 Mini is also Good interms of Features and price.
It’s not just the most searched phone, but also the fastest selling gadget. At Rediff Shopping find Samsung Galaxy S4 at a much cheaper rates then other shopping sites.
Samsung Galaxy S4

Coming with a dual core S4/1 GB of RAM, we can say this is a huge performance boost. However you will still have to close down apps from time to time, though that’s mostly for battery saving purposes. No matter how many apps you use, the phone just doesn’t seem to hang. The antennas in this device are great as well. Most users complain about the lag that Android comes with but this phone solves the problem of most android processors. So now you get a comparatively cheap android phone that works at lightening fast speed! What more could one ask for?

The biggest advantage of this phone is its Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery that offers crazy back up for a smart phone. You can hear songs on that long road trip of yours without any qualms about the battery, as it offers marked improvement in the battery life than S3.

Where's My Phone?!? Google to Roll Out Find My Android Service

We've all misplaced our phones for a period of time. Maybe it only took a few frightened glances next to the couch or a quick look back at the restaurant table to retrieve it. For some of us, however, the loss was permanent, as our little black and grey finger candies were snapped up by the first person who wandered by. And we spent the rest of the day oscillating between fear and anger.
If you've got an iPhone, you've been covered for years now simply by activating Find My iPhone, a service that lets you locate, down to a fairly small circle, where your device is awaiting your rescue (or remote data-wiping if unobtainable). For Android users, however, you've had to rely on third party apps with limited capability to lead you back to your errant device. That is, until now.
The Official Google Blog, has announced that devices running the Android 2.2 Operating System will soon receive a new service, called the Android Device Manager. The upgrade, due out later this month, will include a number of features that will put it on par with Apple's lost phone security system.

If you discover you've lost your phone, you can go to any computer and log into the Android Device Manager, which will be part of the Google Play Store. All that is required is your Google account login, the same one you used to activate your Android phone.
Choose your registered phone and push out a signal to ring at full volume, even if your lost phone was last put on vibrate or silent mode. If this doesn't do the trick, find the phone as a blip a Google Map.
If you discover that your lost Android phone is on the move and you don't feel safe going into full-on vigilante mode (or are worried it will get turned off soon), delete all data on the device using a special built-in wipe mode, to keep your data safe from prying eyes.
If, like many, you've jailbroken and modified your Android phone, the Google blog says they're also introducing an Android Device Manager app, so you should be covered no matter

Google Nexus 5 Hands On Review

The new Nexus 5 manages to offer a huge step up in power while maintaining a brilliantly low price tag.
The Google Nexus 5 is a phone that's the product of constant evolution, companies one-upping each other as they try to prove they can make the best Nexus.
The Nexus One was HTC's only shot at the title, with Samsung making two more then LG getting the nod for the most recent edition, the Nexus 4.
Google Nexus 5 review
While that was a decent phone for a stellar price, the Nexus 5 is a huge step forward for a number of reasons - not least the sub-£300 price tag (for the 16GB version - it's £339 for the 32GB iteration).
There's the Snapdragon 800 chip at the heart of things, running the show incredibly smoothly. The Google Nexus 5 is based loosely on the LG G2, with the same processor and similar IPS LCD screen, albeit with the new Google phone coming in at a smaller 4.95-inch.
Google Nexus 5 review
This means that video and internet browsing looks stellar, with colours bright and vivid without looking over saturated, as we've seen on the Super AMOLED screens of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3.
The overall design of the Google Nexus 5 is an interesting one, as it's lost the glass back to replace it with rubberised plastic - presumably to make it easier to hold.
It is, and the smaller bezel means that you don't feel like you're holding a giant handset despite the near-5 inch screen. It's easy to move the finger or thumb around most of the display, and if you're used to a larger display you'll not even notice a problem with the bigger visage.
Google Nexus 5 review
The camera module on the rear of the Nexus 5, which is an 8MP option, protrudes slightly from the back of the device, making it sit a little awkwardly when placed on the table.
However, there's a good reason for this: LG has thrown in its optical image stabilisation technology (OIS) to help improve the quality of pictures as well as making video look better when you're jumping around at a gig or 'sports event'.
Google Nexus 5 review
The overall design of the Google Nexus 5 is impressive, while not coming anywhere close to the construction of the metal-clad HTC One or similar. It sits in the hand well, has a high quality screen and everything works well when you want it to.
Android KitKat 4.4 is the big other change for the device, as the first phone to offer the new OS. Android fans won't notice much of a change, and to be honest, there's not a lot that's going to be that different, in the same way that Android 4.3 didn't really further the message much more.
Google Nexus 5 review
However, there are some tweaks that make it worth talking about - for instance, the menu bar, the one that takes away the physical home buttons, is now transparent, which brings more of a holistic feel to any app that you're trying to view.
There's also a mode that's supposed to engage full screen with greater ease, but we were only able to turn this on when in the Google Reader app, although we're hopeful that this will come to more apps as Google optimises the new OS.
Google Nexus 5 review
Apart from that it's mostly just the icons that have changed, making things like the phone app a little larger and making them feel more integrated with the home screen.
There's definitely a step up here, but it's not going to change your world in a way that some people might have hoped. For instance, the general speed of operation that came with Android Jelly Bean was a real game-changer, but there's nothing like that on offer here.
Google Nexus 5 review
There's another feature that sadly wouldn't work for us: the integration of Google Now to the whole phone in the same way as the Moto X.
This means you're supposed to be able to say 'OK Google' and the phone will instantly turn on, ready for your voice command. Our unit seems to be a little bit too pre-production, as the option to turn this one wasn't available no matter how hard we tried to force it.
In summary, KitKat is a good upgrade, making the Android OS more integrated than ever before, but if you're waiting to get it on your HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4, you don't need to worry too much given these handsets already have a decent skin to hide such elements.
Google Nexus 5 review
The camera, an 8MP option on the Nexus 5, is a move forward again compared to the Nexus 4, with sharper images, faster processing and a wider gamut of options to help improve your snaps.
We only had a few minutes to test, but the lower light images seemed impressive enough, and the video was shake free compared to that on the Nexus 4.
We're not going to celebrate the feature too much, as there are many better handsets out there that will give you good images on the go that far surpass this handset. However, they'll cost nearly double what you'll be able to get the Nexus 5 for, so if a top-quality snapper isn't the most important thing to you, this will be more than good enough.
The rest of the Nexus 5 is pretty basic; Google wants the stock Android buyers to just get on with downloading their own apps and making the phone their own. With that in mind, the Nexus 5 is a really good option, as the larger screen is perfect as a blank canvas to paint upon as you see fit.
Google Nexus 5 review
The internet browser is fast, the music output impressive (although the UI is still too basic) and the video player, and the screen technology in particular, is really, really impressive.

Early verdict

The Nexus range has taken a real step forward here. The Nexus 4 was a great option for those that don't want to spend a lot, but the handset really began to creak after too long.
The Nexus 5, while a little later in the year compared to the other top-end handsets, seems to be a lot more bullet-proof in terms of being able to carry on chugging for a couple of years.
And what's better is that this will cost very little to buy directly from Google, meaning many will be able to snap this up and go on a rolling SIM-only deal to give freedom to upgrade when they want.

How to download Android Apps and Games On PC from Google PlayStore-

A utility to download Android apps from Google Play Store directly to your PC.

We have been testing and reviewing a lot of Android phones and tablets in the recent past, and we definitely need to keep a few apps for benchmarking and other such information. In order to do the same, we initially need to set up wireless networking, punch in the credentials of the Google account, then search for the needed apps and download them. Downloading apps from the Google Play Store requires an account and hence the entire exercise. This is not only time consuming, but also painfully slow at times when the Internet connection is down or weak. In order to get things in the fast lane, we use an app to back up the apps and save them on the PC. On the other hand, as we all know, most apps keep being updated by their developers and tracking the updates is not possible if we do not have the Google account setup on the Android device. This means doing the same thing all over again and hitting the 'Update App' button every time we have to test a new device.
Real APK Leecher
Real APK Leecher

Many others who constantly do ROM installations and updates on their Android devices would also like to keep a backup of the apps. Installing apps directly from the SD card not only saves downloading time, but also helps you save money by using the Internet on 3G connections. You can save apps to the SD card using third-party apps such as File ExpertTitanium BackupApp Monster and other such utilities, but they only save the currently installed apps. So then, what about new updates for the apps? Updating the app is only possible after installing it and then running the Play Store to check for any updates.
Setup the utility
Set up the utility

In order to overcome this obstacle, we found a Windows-based utility on the XDA forums, developed by the ‘Codeimba.com’ team from Vietnam, called ‘Real APK Leecher’. The software is a JAVA-based utility, which connects to the Internet and the Google Play Store online. The utility needs to be filled with the details of your Google account and the Device ID of your phone in the options. Once the necessary details are filled, it can be used to search and download apps from the Play Store. You can also specify a folder where you have existing apps stored so that they can be scanned and checked for any updates. The apps and updates can be downloaded to a folder of your choice. Read ahead for a walk through on how to get the app and set it up on your PC.
Get your Device ID
Get your Device ID

Download the Real APK Leecher utility from here. Download the archived ZIP file and unzip the contacts to a folder on your desktop. Now open the folder and run the file ‘Real APK Leecher.exe’. Since you would be running the utility for the first time, the options (Configuration window) will be shown. In this window, you will need to give in the details of your valid Google email address, the password to the email account and the Device ID. The device ID will be available on your phone itself; you need to extract it using a simple code on the phone dialler. Start the dialler on your phone and punch in the below mentioned code:

                                         *#*#8255#*#*

The details of this procedure are also provided in the same window where these details need to be fed in the utility.  If you are using a tablet, the phone dialler will not be available. You can download an app called ‘DeviceID’ to get the details of your tablet. These settings need to be done only once, unless you change the phone, tablet or Google account. Further, you have the choice of showing the number of records between 10 to 30 apps on the page while searching for apps. Next, choose the language and country, leave the SIM Operator Number as empty (default) and enter the location to save the downloaded apps along with the location for the folder where your apps are already downloaded and need updates. After these settings are done, you can click on the Save button and the utility will start.
Search for the app you want to download
Search for the app you want to download

Download the app
Set the download location

Set the download location
Download the app

Note: If you make any mistake in the settings, especially with the email address, password and device ID, the utility will not work as it will give you an error in logging into your account. Double-check your settings if you get any errors.

Now that the utility has started, you can search for the app using its vendor name, package name or custom name in the search bar. Depending on the choice you made earlier, the number of searched apps will be listed in the window below. To download the app, simply click on it once to highlight the entire field, then right-click on the line and select the download option.

Note: The searched apps will have both free and paid versions showing up and you can only download free versions. If the app is a paid version, you will not be able to download it, as there are no options for payment through this utility. You can hit the Google Play link to go to the Play Store and do the necessary payments there. If you have already paid for the app earlier, then you can download the app without this extra step.
Check for app updates on your PC
Check for app updates on your PC

To check for updates for your already downloaded apps, you can right-click on any app in the list and click on the ‘Scan Existing Folder’ option. The utility will then ask you one more time if you want to scan the folder you previously entered in the options or any other folder on your PC. Click on OK and the utility will scan every app in the specified folder and list the entire content of that folder. Each app will be listed with icons, which will specify if there is an update available for any of the apps. The icon with the exclamatory mark in a triangle is the one with updates available. Next, right-click on the app and click on the download option. Apps that are not available on the Play Store or are pirated will show up with a question mark, whereas the ones with the green check mark are apps that have no updates.
Existing app updates are shown with exclamatory symbols
Existing app updates are shown with exclamatory mark symbols

You can also use this utility to download apps that are not available in your country by changing the SIM Operator Number in the options field. Apps that have carrier restrictions can be faked to get the apps downloaded. To do this on your phone itself, you need to have a rooted phone and market enabler app. Using this utility, you can do it without any hitch. The SIM Operator Number (SON) for various mobile carriers around the world can be availed from here. The SON is a combination of the MCC and MNC numbers. SON = MCC + MNC. For example, Vodafone IN Mumbai has MMC number 404 and MNC number 20, which makes the SON 40420. Enter this number in the SON field in the options window.

Disclaimer: Try this utility at your own risk. This utility and tutorial is for educational purposes only. We do not take any responsibility for misuse of this app. Please read the T&C for Google Play before downloading the apps.

In Companies DNS cache is Flushed and Cleared every Day to maintain Good Speed. I recently Shared a very Easy tweaks to Increase  Speed in Windows 7.but if you are having windows 7 or Windows 8. then this is the Right Trick for you. Increase Internet Speed In Mobile

Increase Internet Speed in Mobile

Their  must be many Tricks and Hacks to SpeedUp Internet in Windows 7. But to do that All Tweaks in system you need to be a Pro or Geek expert. So by not going deep Inside we will going to use a Simple DNS Trick which Speedups your Browsing and downloading in Mobile or Windows 8 beta.

Increase Internet Speed Through Open DNS

What is openDNS?

The DNS (Domain Name System) is the phonebook of the Internet. When you enter a website into a browser, it’s DNS that finds the optimal machine to serve that website to you. Without it, browsing as we know it would not be possible.
For Example:
When you type an internet address in your web browser “ www.google.com“, the request first goes to the DNS servers of your local ISP. These “Domain Name Servers” will translate the web URL into some cryptic and hard-to-remember numeric address ” 74.125.39.104″

Increase Internet Speed by Open DNS

Open DNS serve 30 billion DNS requests to 20 million customers every day, with plenty of capacity to spare. You’re probably using DNS service from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) today, but ISPs have notoriously unreliable and slow service. OpenDNS is the best  DNS service available and its the best solution for slow internet Connections. When i was Using 2g still i use sometimes. i have Open DNS Configured in my computer. To be honest my Speed is increased 30% faster.
Steps to Setup OpenDNS on your Android Mobile.

Step 1

Press the "Menu" button on the Android. Tap "Settings."

Step 2

Tap "Wireless & Networks." Tap "Wi-Fi Settings."

Step 3

Press the "Menu" button. Tap "Advanced."

Step 4

Tap "DNS 1." Press and hold the backspace key to erase the existing DNS, and then type the new primary DNS address "208.67.222.222" or "208.67.220.220" into the text field. Tap "OK."

Step 5

Tap "DNS 2." Erase the old DNS address, and then enter the new secondary DNS server address using the on-screen keyboard. Press the "Back" button four times to return to the home screen.

Steps to setup DNS on your IPhone:

Step 1

Open the Settings app on your iPhone while connected to a wireless network.

Step 2

Click on the "Wi-Fi" option on the top-level Settings menu.

Step 3

Click on the blue arrow next to the wireless network for which you wish to change DNS settings.

Step 4

Click on the DNS option under the settings for the chosen wireless network. The current value will be equal to two IP addresses separated by a comma. If only one IP address is visible, only a primary DNS has been set on your phone.

Step 5

Enter the primary and secondary IP address of the DNS you wish to use for this wireless connection in the future. "208.67.222.222" , "208.67.220.220" to use OpenDNS. The secondary DNS provides a backup should the primary be unreachable. You may configure the secondary DNS even if you previously had only a primary set.

Step 6

Click the "Wi-Fi Networks" navigation arrow to save the entered settings and return to the previous settings screen.
Thats All. now you have SpeedUp your Internet Connection
Ya that’s True. Sometimes we don’t know but our Net Speed is slow because of DNS and we think it is a Network problem or Virus problem. But after doing the above Steps shown in a very easy way be me. You will Feel the change in your Internet Speed. Yes, its Increase Internet Speed on your Windows 7 computer or Laptop, Mobiles. Enjoy
