Panasonic P31 Announced for Rs.11,990



When it comes to smartphones, we haven’t heard too much from Panasonic in quite a while now, but it seems that the Japanese company is looking to grow its presence in such emerging markets as India. The company has made official the Panasonic P31, a quad-core panasonic p31smartphone which will be made available across India from the second week of March at a price of 11, 990 INR. After having teased the smartphone at the end of February this year, the dual-SIM handset running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean has now been announced. Speaking of the launch, Manish Sharma, Managing Director at Panasonic India, said the following:

The Panasonic P31, with its bouquet of smart and efficient ‘Play Life’ features, will help you ease and simplify your life, while offering the best of innovative technologies, enabling you to be on the move
The Panasonic P31 comes with a 5-inch FWVGA 480×854 pixel display with an ‘ultra oleophobic’ coating meant to protect against fingerprints. Inside we find a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU from an unspecified maker, and 4GB of inbuilt storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card; no mentions of the RAM capacity. The device comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash support capable of recording full-HD (1080p) videos and a VGA front-facing camera.
P31′s battery has a 2000mAh capacity which is said to last up to 13 hours of 2G talk time and 9 hours of 3G talk time. On the connectivity side, it comes with 3G, FM radio, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot and Bluetooth 4.0. Despite not being a 4G device, it does come with HSPA+. The P31 also comes with the“Play Life” user interface which has four main features: “Gesture Play”, draw-to-unlock gesture based feature; “Pop-i Player” to multi-task while watching videos; “Music cafĂ©” for organizing your music and “Ultimate Saver” for switching battery modes. The “Heat-Sink” feature is an interesting feature which maintains the device temperature through controlled heat dissipation
